I am interested is setting up a terrarium for 4 slimy salamanders. The tank is a standard 30 gallon long 36 inch tank.
My questions are is it safe to house slimys together or could one possibly eat another?
Would wet paper towels be safer than soil in order to prevent fungus?
Ideal temps for them?
I have two huge fire salamanders over 8 yrs. They are housed in a 30 gallon tank with moist white no chemical/no perfume paper towels and lots hide areas such as hollow driftwood, clay pots, etc. I would like to house the slimies same way if possible.

Thanks.

Isn't 'Slimy Salamander' a bit redundant?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
