He looks cool, and it looks like he's grown very fast.
I have only ever seen larvae or adults in the water, but i dont see very many (ive never seen an adult male)
WHere did you get it from? It would be illegal to collect a bay from the wild.

dont you think i know that. what are you trying to say i nick them from the wild .i am trying to save them in the wild i have reported many finds to the wildlife trusts over the years i would not take them from the wild i get them from eggs from charles snell and have done for many years

Lovely animal, Justin.
Oh, and I'm sure AJJ didn't mean any offence.
I'm really looking forward to getting Charles list of CB eggs this year!

I had the same thing happen with some T karelini.
They went from eggs to breeding in just one year.
The young stayed aquatic which Im sure helped the fast development, as they feed much better in water.

Great pic by the way, keep them coming.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
