when is newts season for cynops orientallis. i had 12 eggs laid all went to fungus but one i found floating in the tank. its definatly an egg, cause i can see the newts body inside. it seems strange that only one is "proper" are ther more to come?

Impossible to predict. The "season" is winter into spring, but some people get eggs almost year round. I would predict that if you keep them well fed, well housed, and cool in winter, they will continue to breed each year for you. I wouldn't even try to predict whether you will find more eggs tomorrow or not until next year. Sometimes the eggs are all fertile, sometimes many are infertile; again, it's totally unpredictable. Good luck to you!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
