I live in Quebec, Canada and i have 6 spotted salamanders in larval form but i have had these guys since mid may and they have yet to morph from their aquatic forms...theyre still only 1 1/2 inches and dont seem to grow anymore no matter how much they r fed...i have been feeding them and exclusive diet of brine shrimp and tiny pieces of cut worm(extremely time consuming because the worm has to be drop right beside theyre head but not too close or they will run) I REALLY WANT THESE GUYS TO START SHOWIN SOME SIGNS OF GROWTH!!!ANY HELP ON GETTIN THESE GUYS MORPHED WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THanks in advance

They might not have enough room, you could try putting them in a larger set-up, they also usually morph at about 2.5 inches and they morph 2-4 months after hatching so you still have time

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
