one of the females is oddly coloured, the other female was injured when i got her and now is healed up with barely a scar to show where her ulcer was

I hate bumping old threads, but wow. What a cool looking opacum =X Can't believe there were no responses!

she's a real looker. I just got an opacum, and it's my first salamander. Looks healthy, but has been pretty shy so far. Can't tell its sex though, because the color seems a bit intermediate.

The "snowy" A. opacum looks very interesting! However, The other example is a poor one. The specimen is obviously underweight. A. opacum tails should remain rounded. The hips should not be visible. ETC! ETC!

Sorry, just had to point it out. Maybe that was the reason for a lack of initial responses...?

If you read, that opacum was just recovering from an injury. But either way, I don't think any of these animals are dangerously thin. It's rather that most ambystomatids we see are ridiculously overweight.

Those A. opacum look great, love the pearly sheen on them!

Oh, and that guy above me is too funny!
