hi, although i'm a beginner here on the forum i'm not a beginner in keeping salamanders/newts. i have recently picked up my old interest in these fascinating animals, and i just wonder if someone here know if it is legal to keep these newts here in europe and if so, where can i get some? i've kept over 30 different species, most of them have actually bred

DON'T

These are not illegal in Europe. But they are critically endangered and stolen from nature in Iran, where it is highly protected but control is poor.
total population is about 1000 but hundreds are collected for trade, most of which die very quickly.

In my opinion it should be illegal to have these as they are more endangered than for instance Elephants, Tigers and Panda's

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
