I wouldn't eat either if my belly was that full! I hope they do well once the yolk is gone.

on the average they are a very hardy species, i think they will do fine if they make it past the first month

They are beautiful Paris! Even if their are only two.

Keep me updated and I'd like to see how the mom does it herself next year(will she do better?).

she did better last time, i had 13 hatch back then.....a lot of learning to do with these, this is only my second breeding, and as far as i have been told these have only been captive bred 4 times, so by sharing this i hope to bypass personal errors for others who may get the chance to breed these in the future.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
