Looking some of my pictures for a different picture I found this one of an egg mass of D. quadromaculatus taken in the mountains of Georgia.

There is a camera lens in the upper portion of the picture to give you an idea of the size of the clutch.

Awesome pic. Was it in the water or next to it?

Hi Russ,
It was in the mid stream.
There was a second nest found that night that was in about 12 inches of water.

Very cool, Ed http://www.caudata.org/forum/clipart/biggrin.gif

Here's an article on ''Life history of a small form of the plethodontid salamander
Desmognathus quadramaculatus" for your perusal:

Desmognathus quadramaculatuses ... I'm bad at remembering scientific names but this one is easy as taking the first part of each word sounds like "death squad" http://www.caudata.org/forum/clipart/lol.gif
