Fungal problems with larvae

I've already got everyone in clean water and in their proper salt solutions, i just thought i'd share my peculier problem-the fungus seems to only "attack" the hands of the axies. Their back legs aren't even grown in yet... so right the fungus has been getting on the hands..the salt bath slows it down but isnt stopping it really, the fungus covers the hands and then they get brittle at the wrist and the hands fall off while im changing their water. so far it has gotten almost all of the babies who had hands in the first place...chomp chomp I have canibals...
Im confuzzled can anybody figure out whats going on,, theres no immediate like big problems but me and my handless babies would just like an explanation... if there even is. thanks and toodles.

im not sure what could be causing this either. i have babys but there only tiny, they havnt even begun to grow legs yet. i suppose if its not spreading over the entire body, only the legs then it shouldnt be to much of a problem. but could this cause slow growth as they would have to regenerate limbs?.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
