my poor babies are suffering from the heat i am guessing. they have been swimming on top of the water and looking a lil sluggish at times. the last couple of days i have noticed their skin looks a lil bumpish and cota has the white film on her,(which i heard is from stress), is this the heat?
i checked the ph and its fine and stabilised the nitrates. and the water is pretty clean
should i fridge my babies to save em? or is there another solution?

yip fridge em, unless you can be bothered setting up fans or rotating ice bottles. keep an eye on that coating it could turn into fungus

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
