Gills looking WRONG!

HI All,

Just writing to ask what could possibly be wrong with Bob(or Bobinas)gills.

They have gone pale in colour. Normally Bobby has a constant RED colour gills, but this morning they have gon WHITE.

Willy on the otherhand seems fine, His gills are still PURPLE/RED as usual.

Im thinking either a diet, water temp or disease.........?

Water temp is 19 degrees celcius, food is a variety of mealworms, beef heart and ox heart and the water is fine (all tests good)

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Sarah

That's a good water temperature. I've noticed that mine only get really bright gills when they're snapping at each other or feeding. When they're 'sleeping', their gills go quite pale. Keep an eye on it and see if there's any pattern to when the gills are pale or not.

Have you tried feeding earthworms? I know they seem to be a little more difficult to come by in your neck of the woods, but I think you should look and see if there are any around that you can feed.
