We have noticed that little clumps of cloudy discharge has been laying around the tank, there are dozens of them...
also, we saw some of this discharge come from hansel...
we were wondering if she was laying eggs or is it something for us to be worried about?
thanks guys.

my girl layed eggs. i didnt even know she was old enough. it looked like christmas with clear balls with a white spot inside, stuck to everything. it really was really pretty and they were really stuck on.
update they have hatched now. the mom is a yellow and the dad is a wild type dark. the babies have little paws now but they all seem so different. some have little stripes. some are dark on the top and whiteish underneath. then some are all dark. theres a couple that seem a little yellow but they still have a spot or two
they are eating daphina and i mashed some black worms. i tried cutting them but they wouldnt stay still. the meat cleaver worked

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
