Building a new tank

I'm making a tank as the only one's I can find are small budget ones or medium sized $600 jobs. I want to make a 30 gallon one to start with and it'd save me a bit of money making my own.

I'm going to a glass specialists to ask if they can cut me some sheets of glass that are the standard 1/4 inch thickness and I'm buying some aqaurium safe silacon glue and other equipment.

Here's a site that I found : http://www.garf.org/ and you go down to the bottom to DIY Pages and click Tank Building.

I was just wondering if any of yous have made your own tanks and if you have any advice for me...?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
