hey all
i noticed last couple days the water in my axes tank has been cloudy
why is this?
and how can i get rid of it?
thanks

How long has the tank been set up for? have tested the water? Have you put any thing new in it?

To fix this just do water changes and after awhile it will be gone

It could be a bacterial bloom. As Karrie mentioned have you tested your tankwater and have you added anything? How much and how often do you feed and/or clean the tank?

Hi there, mines doing the same...I am pretty sure its because the temp has risen, I keep a bucket outside for the water changes and that has algea growing in it too after 3 days ( to get the chlorine out ready for the water changes). My tests so far have all come back ok and my axolotl both seem fine

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
