My babies have started hatching. I guess i will have to be vigilant in the cleaning of the tank. I had started a brine shrimp factory/hatchery 3 days ago. I have some hatched now. Do i siffon them out , rinse them in water(declorinated) and put them in the axie nursery? I know they don't eat for the first day, egg yolk in belly, but i am scared that i will fail in the raising of these little guys.

For the first few days, add VERY tiny amounts of the brine shrimp. Watch closely after you add it, to see if they are eating yet. (If they are eating, they will "hop" to catch the passing shrimp.) The less excess food, the less problems with clean-up. Good luck to you!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
