Hi our axies are 20cms x 1.5cm (9months old) and we feed them every other day, but not sure how much were feeding them is right. We feed them freeze dried white strimp (about a cm big x 0.5cm)and freeze dried river shrimp which is 2cm x 1cm big. we try to alternate the food every other day so prob feed 5 0r 6 of white strimp or river shrimp on each sitting. Is this enough. I would love ideas for other types of food. I do not want to feed them live food! Does any one know where i can get salmon pellets in england???

Also one of my axies has gone off her food..she had fungus a few weeks ago which has now cleared up, but her appeiete has not come back...what should i do....she is on sand not gravel (changed 3 weeks ago)

i feed squid, prawns, fish, octopus, mussels, crickets, meal worms, earth worms and occasionally beef. all frozen for convenience. if mine have a boot of fungus after it has cleared i feed smelly food like prawns or fish and they cant resist it, i try not to feed for a week after fungus, then i feed and they go crazy, dont forget that it is very stressful and they need to recover

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
