ive fed my axies home made food for the last 2,5 mth now and they love it,
i do a mix of frozen and dryede foods mostly glassworms, bloodworms, daphnia(both frozen and dryede), artemia, lancett fish, mysis, cannede tuna, blackwoorms and axie pellets.
i just defrost what ever i feel like that day, i usualy try to get as much variation as possibel so they wont get bored. then i mix in some gelatine so it sticks together, spread it out thinly on a backing plate waite until it hardens, cut it in slabs that will fit in resealabel bag, i use a blunt kitchen tool to make cuts in the slabs so it will break off easy when frozen, and stick it in the freezer

so what do you think is this a good idea ??
would fish vitamins be a good idea ?(im currently using sera multi vitamins for my fantails)
if any of you have any good ideas or reciepies please let me know

There's a great thread here by another newt chef. I'd love to try this myself one day when I get all the materials.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
