How's best to CLEAN them???!
Is this possible?

I don't norm feed any of the 'Lotls that come my way with live foods - but it's the only thing I can think of to encourage this new one to eat....

You can't ever entirely "clean" any live food. Rinsing well, and making sure the live food is alive and healthy, is all you can do. If the bloodworms smell bad, don't use them.

Thank you - that's what I meant.

I appreciate the risk - but I also appreciate the fact that he is severely underweight, and NEEDS to eat - the balance for me is set...

I will hasten to add, he came to me in such a skinny condition.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
