Poo frequency

How often should an axie poo? I fed my axie the 24th and she still hasn't pooed. The temp is 19*C. She has been like this for some time now, pooing every third or fourth day. I feed her every second or third day as she has seamed to get a bit thin...

Sounds like a healthy axie to me. Mine hardly ever seem to poo. Unless they have a secret stash underneith a rock or something. LOL

My little guys however squeeze em out constantly! They are still on two feeds a day though.

my boy getting fed every day does a poop a day, two if hes feeling generous (hes only 8-10cm) and i only see it cause hes in a BB tank. however i dont normally see whole poops with my bigins, tiny fragments sometimes cause i find with their mad dashes they do sometimes it gets broken up real easy so i wouldnt worry too much, i think youd see them acting funny if they were constipated

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
