I am goin on a week long holiday starting Sunday the 9th of October!!! What do I do about my axie Buddy?????????

I'm not sure, but apparently they do just fine for a week without food, but why don't you put some guppies in there, just in case?

Hey Monique, just noticed you're in Healesville. Where do you buy your stuff from?

I'm in Dingley, which is I think about an hour and a half away from you.

they can live just fine without food for a week. maybe give him a big helping before you leave. i wouldnt go with guppies just because they can carry lots of diseases unless theyre your own home bred stock, even then theres no guarentees

It really depends on how old/how big your axolotl is. Is it an adult or is it still a juvenile? How big is it? If it's over 15 cm, I wouldn't worry about leaving it for a week. Just feed it well for a couple days before hand.

you also have to watch what guppys you get. Some are rather aggressive and will eat your axies gills.

I would probably try and feed them something before hand that will take a while to digest.

lean beef or something like that should do the trick.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
