At the moment my current feeding plans for my 4 adult axies are.

Everyday = earth worms
Every third day = frozen blood worms
Treats = crickets and meal worms

Is this a good food set up for my adult axies???

They do not like pellets, and i am having trouble finding "SALMON PELLETS" to give them a go with them. Also could i feed them CARNIVORE STICKS"? used to feed carnivorous fish?

Also are there any other kinds of food that are reccommended for axolotls and liked by axolotls?

Thanks

You may be able to find 'Axolotl pellets' in your LFS, they're fairly common here in NZ. Mine seem to love it, the moment I drop them in they smell it and come to their feeding plate.

Ahhh k... I saw some pellets called "AXOLOTL and CRAYFISH" pellets. Are these basically the same? They are a circular pellet.

Thanks

Let me guess urs come in a black circular container??? lol.. thats how these ones are packaged

Ahhh k... The ones here that i have seen come in a black circular container about an inch high.

They say axolotl and crayfish pellets and teh pellets themselves are circular... I might get to try anyways.

Cheers mate.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
