Today I was looking in my tank and I saw this little white thing that looked like a worm. First I just thought it was a piece of fluff but it was wriggling around. Does anybody know what this thing might be?

If it was less then a cm long its probably just these little worms, im not sure what they are called but they are in my tank and they don't bother the mudpuppy, my fish eat them.

It was less than 1cm and I can't take a picture of it because I can't see it again. The feeder fish that are in my tank will eat it so I am not worried about it.

nematodes are usually tiny white worms that appear. Most are harlmess and fish do eat them.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
