If i got a tiger salamander could i put it in a tank with an axolotl? Would the tiger salamander change into a land animal?

Stephen, other than axolotls, all caudates are banned from Australia, including tiger salamanders. They are also not captive bred.

No, you cannot put them in the same tank. Tiger salamanders are terrestrial.

Jay, how do they have different diets?

Yea, as far as I knew, both love to eat worms. When you say "tiger salamander" do you mean an actual terrestrial salamander, or an aquatic larval form of a tiger salamander. I've heard of people keeping the larvae together with no problem.

Jacob, I don't recommend keeping the larvae together. Tiger larvae are VERY aggressive, and have been known to eat axolotls when kept in a situation like that.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
