I have 2 axies now and they're both warm water axies! Not topical but 23degrees water is quite warm for them :D Room temp i guess. They're not even bothered about water chnges its really weird (could be the blody good filter i have tho.

Oh btw my new axie is called Kracken :D

vben though you cant see them bothered, it doesn't mean that they aren't bothered. higher temperatures will slowly increase their level of stress untill they die. my advice is not to keep the temperature above 21 degrees celcius under a longer period of time

lorie, what is your expectation of an axolotl that isnt happy with the water temperature?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
