In part of my senior projects, one of the characters was my pet axolotl(stylized). The project was a flash based interactive 3d animation and social commentary. The scene was a tea party table and the purpose was to engage the user in an "conversation" with the characters on topics in reguard to the treatment of others, such as xenophobia, irresponsible land management, racism, corporate negligence and expoiltation of 3rd world contries or just impoverished areas of the first world counties, ie social stratification in reguards to pollution.

Anyways, the axolotl discussion was about how a factory came to his town and destroyed his lake and then abanandoned the factory and now everyone from his town is sick and jobless, etc. conversation engaged from there.

Here is a screen cap. I dont know any other people who used an axolotl in their projects at my school (thousands of kids there-it is an art school)

No post the the link of the actual project because i hate how it turned out and one day I plan to touch it again and improve it by initilizing some programming i did not finish.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
