Finally, the new tank's cycling is finished and Loki and Kenghis have finally been able to move in.

Of course they were pretty scared at first, and retreated under the filter (as they always do)

sorry, no pics yet. i've lost the camera

Loki seems so much happier now, even with his fungal infection (which im going to treat soon when mum buys some salt for her sea-horse tank shes gonna set-up)

when i walk in the room, he comes up to me! he hasn't done that since he was only 8cm. i put a little dish of pellets and he swam over and ate them happily.

and kenghis... well hes just same as usuall, trying to rip off my fingers :p.

oh, and i have a question, whats the best way to entertain axies? i've heard of ice cubes and ping pong balls which i will try. any other ideas?

thanks!

don't use ice cubes, this can cause fluctuating temperatures which could stress your axies.

Go have a quick peep in "Axie Birthday Presents" - it should be just under this thread.
I put all the things I use/do for axies in there :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
