I went to my local pet shop the other day and i saw three 2.5 inch axies for sale i was really shocked to see their condition they where where in out of the three of them none had any legs and pretty much looked sick they just did not look good i would have brought them if i had the space but i could not. So i just walked straight out of there why to people in pet shops seem to not care about them. I have never seen the for sale where i live.

personaly i think its just because they just dont care about the animals they just interested in the money but place run by people that actualy like the animals is better

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
