Hi, I've got a nice 1 foot long wildtype axie and since I'm upgrading his tank to a 70x30x30cm I was wondering if he'd like to have a albino friend this time.

Is there anything I should be concerned about ?

thanks

Just make sure you quarantine the new axie for 30days b4 putting him in with your axie, so your older axie doesn't get sick or pick up any illnesses. (So many times I have seen threads on here where people buy new axie companions and put them in with their healthy older axie only to find the new one has passed something on and made it sick!)

try to get an axie thats the closest size to your current wild type. this will reduce cannabilism. if your thinking about breeding make sure to get one of a different sex, if you dont want to end up with eggs all over the tank then get the same sex axie. and also as kapo mentioned, quarentine the new axie.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
