I was so mad...

Today I went to the pet store near me just cos I wa sbored. they had a gorgeous golden albino and a pure black melanoid! The tank had gravel, a heater on 26C and strong filter flow. The golden albino was on the floor with one foot and gill missing. The melanoid was floating, looking sick, with fungus on it. I told the pet shop owner that this was wrong and she said "Doesnt look too bad in there. Should be fine"

Idiot. Makes me so mad.

Yes it´s sad but true, usually I see in most of the pet stores animals being kept in pour conditions, I always say anything but it is very hard for them to change anything to improve the situation, I even bought several animals just to get them out of there ,but it is a thing that we just have to deal with, once more it is really sad and hard to watch and do nothing but it´s not only up to us to change it. But every effort that we can do to change it it´s always good. Keep on protecting all animals.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
