Freeze Frame

Gustav did the funniest thing last weekend. I woke up on Sunday morning and decided to look how my larvae were doing by pulling the tubs closer to the bed while still in it. Then i looked up to see how Gus was doing and he stopped dead as if id scared him or he didnt want me to see him moving. he had been moving around the tank at the time though so thats how i knew he froze. his face was looking out of the tank at me...his front legs were on 2 rocks...his left back leg was on another rock and his back right leg was just randomly floating in the air! i laughed my head of at him and told my boyfriend to have a look! awwww you had to be there really but it was hilarious! i think i took a pic but it wasnt clear but ill try and post it in here.

oh here it is...his body kind of blocked his leg a lil so you cant really see how far up in the water it is.

I hope you don't mind, but I adjusted it a little for you so it is clearer.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
