hi
need to know what type of fliter to get
got a corner fliter not working cloudy tank and smell
anyone got any idea i cant keep changing the water every 3 days

how big is the tank? I have a 20 gallon with a Penguin Mini biowheel filter, which works great. I attached an empty filter medium bag below the output of the filter in order to reduce splashing.

Axolotls are messy critters, and I've found that the little box filter don't work that great past a 5 gallon tank.

i got a 60 litre tank btw

Fluval 2+ internal

AquaClear 200

or a smallish external cannister with a sparybar return would work well ;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
