I feed about 6 medium sized every 2nd night. She looks healthy since I switched her to the crickets and has certainly put on some weight which she needed anyway.
i usually feed gut loaded crickets once or twice a week and about 4-5 each "Med - to small" my gold "tango" has gone off her/his food a little and will only eat either crickets or beef heart now, turns her/his nose up at maggots and worms
but scoffs down the crickets. my other two love maggots and worms
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
