O'kay now just a quick questions, Q1- Can axolotls eat worms from the garden? ,and, Q2- How do I go about preparing the worm to be eat'n?
Q3- do i have to remove their poo(dirt) in the worm before giving it to my axolotls?

Hi Kylie,

I used to feed my axie worms out of my garden, but only because I was 100% sure that no chemicals were present in the soil.

Now I buy them from a fish bait shop - they are really cheap and are bred specifically as food for fish.

I keep mine in a large tub in a cool, dark place. The soil is slightly damp. I feed them old vegatables/fruit and put crushed up eggshell in the soil also as this increases their calcium content so they are more nutritious for my axie.

To prepare a worm I simply wash any dirt off it and drop it into the tank. If the worm is ridiculously large I cut it to make it easier for Elsa to swallow, but she is a full grown female so this doesn't happen very often.

Hope that helps
