Whoo-Hoo!! I finaly convinced Mom that i needed one more! We went down to town to get him from the pet store..they had made a price mistake and were saying that they were $79.99, i was all dissapointed because i hadnt saved up enough, so Mom made them double check the price. It turned out they were only $39.99! so i picked one out and brought *him* home. He is so so so so cute! 9cm long little golden albino!!

i was so stoked that i couldnt sit still in the car. Im afraid to put him in with catherine and antonio, he might end up as food.. so he is all set up in is very own ten gallon tank. oh and did Did i mention that he is so so so so so so so so cute??

are you sure he's a he? i'd be surprised if you could tell at only 9cm. but he sounds awesome - we want pics!!

Heather, bes keep them seperate for a little while. Consider it quarantine.

But at 9cm he's more than likely to get a few bites from the others and end up worse for wear.

How about a piccy, we likes piccies, loads. Best of luck with him.

Katy- not sure its a boy, thats just what ive been calling it

MIK- yeah.. its in a separate tank untill he grows a few more inches, and regrows all his toes for that matter

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
