Hello, I've been browsing around this site for a couple of months now, so I figured I should introduce myself and my animals
I'm Josh Milliken, I'm 22 and live in Bethlehem, WV which is a part of Wheeling, WV. I've been chasing after herps since I was wee little, and have been studying them since I could read.
I've kept mainly Turtles, lizards, frogs, and toads though, not many caudata, so I'm on here to learn about them.

If you would like to see my gallery of animals on kingsnake.com here's the link to it, it's a lot better than having the page take forever to load for everyone. http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.php?user=34639&cat=500

My little forum is here if you'd like to see it and or participate as well. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theamphibianboard/

And my website is here if you'd like to learn more

Actually no, I did finally identify it and it's not Occidozyga lima, it's a frog with many common names, Crab-Eating Frog/Edible Frog, scientific name Limnonectes cancrivora
http://www.wildherps.com/travels/Indonesia1999/Limnonectes_limnocharis_big.jpg
or another of the Limnonectes group, they are pretty variable.

The ones I had died over a year ago unfortunately.

They had to hide regardless of what type of setup they were in, and it usually wasn't in the water.

They were just labeled wrong at the pet shop, they were neat little frogs, the body structure reminded me of Pyxicephalus adspersus with the long wart like structures on their skin.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
