Bombina orientalis color

I bought two bombinas about two months ago...
When I bought them, one of them was a lime green color, but as time went on, it turned to brown, but I can still see two lime green spots behind its eyes (poison glands?)
Can the color be restored? If so, how?
Thanks in advance

If you are keeping it in a very different way than the store from which you bought it did, that might be the reason. This encompasses terrarium design, water temps, light levels, diet etc. Mine did the same thing, except it changed to a dark olive green but it has lived happily for 3 1/2 years. You might experiment with different pigmented foods, as this affect color.

Both my oriental fire bellied toads have light green patches too and one of the has a brown/gold patch on his back. Often they will go dark if they are about to shed soon. One of my fire bellied toads also has these little white spots on him. Is this normal he has had them for quite a long time now and i wondered what they were.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
