Hi i feed my axies bloodworms, beef heart and on the occasion a bit of beef liver cut up like worms (they love it). I was wondering if i could buy uncooked frozen prawns defrost them and feed them to my axies.

Mine are being spoilt with raw tiger prawns ( peeled and cut up with scissors- nearly lost my finger the other day using the knife!). I usually feed them earth worms, but its gotten very humid at the moment and the old worms are hiding well. Also slivers of lean raw meat, the heart sliced from the weekend roast and I think the best one is live river shrimp that i get from the aquarium.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
