I've noticed there are a few Sarahs on this board.. Well.. This is Sarah from Florida.

I didn't have such a love for salamanders until I got my cute little Ginui, my Texas Tiger Barred. He/she is just so cute and personable! Begging for food like that! The little fatty.

In the past, I have kept other amphibians, I used to have blue and black Auratus (dart frogs) but I got rid of them because the fruit flies pissed off the roommates (and me too!). Anyway, Ginui is just such a joy. I went to a reptile show and told my friends, "Do NOT let me leave here with anything. Unless it's a salamander." And that's how I ended up with my Siren, Undine. Nooowwww I have a bunch of little baby axies I'm trying to rear. They are 3 weeks old now. Wish me luck with that! They sure are cute!

I've had Ginui for over a year now, and Undine, it'll be a year in the fall. I've had a great time with these guys. Low maintenance, and rewarding. Perfect college kid pet, I think.

Besides the salamanders, I also have 4 cute little ratties. They are my babies. I'm a big animal lover. I'm a bio student as FSU in Tallahassee. And oh, I love video games and sleeping. So, that's me!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
