Sorry for posting so many things about fungus everyone!
I do one methylene blue bath and one salt bath a day. The fungus seems to be going down which is good :D No sluggish behaviour or anyhting, hes eating and walking about so he isnt too dragged down.
I dissolve the salt in the sepeerate container(this may seem stupid but the bucket i do the baths in is red..is this okay?) and scoop him out wiht a net and put him in the bucket, exsposing him to the air...or is it better that he doesnt coem outta the water?

I think it's no problem that he comes out for a few seconds. I would even say it's nicer (to him, I mean) to be moved by hand. But be careful, they are stronger than they look.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
