hi, i recently found these great little guys, and read about them and decided, i just have to have one;) so im looking for a place that sells them around me, i live right outside LA, and if anyone knows where i can get them around here, thatd be great, plus if someone knows around how much they cost that would help too
any info is appreciated, thanks:)

As far as I know, Ambyostoma are actually illegal in CA. Occasionally you can find people who have them, [grandfather clause applies] I found a guy on CL with them. Good luck!

Ambystoma are not illegal in California. However, it's illegal to ship them to Cali, so you'll have to find a local breeder.

I suggest placing a want ad and seeing what responses you get.

oo thankyou guyss, and kaysie, i think thats what ill do :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
