i have had a japanese fire belly newt for about 2 months now. i got him at a store where i dont think they took care of them bc he was under a different name and in a tank with a different species of a nother ewt. i think i bought him with a skin fungus. it started white, just discolor of small parts of his skin, like spots. now it has spred over his whole body. he seems fine and has shed twice but the spots stay there and one shed with his skin, but was still under it to. his water and humidity and air stay btwn 74-81 F. he acts fine and aknowledges who i am and eats alot. the other newt in the tank at the store with him died a few days after i got them. he is my first newt and i keep him in a 20gal long with a few fish. i only feed him live, frozen and packets of bloodworms, red wigglers, earthworms from outside ocasionally and a night crawler before. he eats crickets too. mostly likes live foods and is picky. he chases my fish sometimes and ate a ghost shrimp b4. i wanted to know where i could order live worms offline and what is good for his health...... any idead about his skin? he stays in the water alot, sometimes goes on his land for short periods.
