I always feel weird making these posts, and usually tend to skip them, but I figured, What the heck?

My name is Tamara, I live in California, I currently have 4 axolotls [yellow albino, white albino, leucisitc, and normal?], and they are my first amphibians, I am more of a reptile geek. I have over 150 geckos and snakes, and I love taking pictures of them. The taking pictures of the axolotls thing I havent gotten down, that "through the glass and water" stuff is way more complicated then the "I am going to run away and bite you" stuff. hahah.

Here is a pic!

Welcome! We're glad to have you! Your Rhac is lovely. And still has a tail!

Some of the others of us keep things in addition to amphibians. I have a fair number of snakes (mostly constrictors) in addition to the amphibs.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
