I`m going to raise a small batch in a different kind of setup. I`ll try shallow water and cork bark islands with moss. Normally I raise them in terrestrial setup until they are two years old.
Ralf: I finish my part in a week or two I promise.

Nice work Juraj! Do these morphlings have a yellow dot on the dorsal side of the forelimb?

That's a very nice sized morph. Keep us posted on the semi-aquatic rearing.

Well done Juraj! How long did they take from hatching to morphing? What are you feeding the fresh morphs on?

It takes about four months. To fresh morphs I feed tubifex and any kind of earth/compost worms.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
