Hi Everyone,

My name is Tom. I'm mostly into frogs but I kept fire-bellied newts a long time ago. I want to try my hand at them once again, and I just finished making a 25 gallon paludarium. I've lurked around here for a while and I've found some really cool information.

J'aime beaucoup que Caudata est un site Web internationale. Je dois pratiquer mon francais pendant que je cherche pour un emploi. S'il y a des membres qui parlent francais, vous pouvez me demander des questions en francais. Merci!

Thanks everyone! :)

Bonjour, Tom. Welcome. Be careful about this website: it's addictive:grin:

Yes, I've noticed. And I don't even have any newts yet! :D

Newts are addictive too!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
