Hey all;

My axie Banda was bought from the pet shop..about two or three weeks ago..
She only ever been feed mealworms
and I have heard that mealworms arent the most sufficent food..
So i bought bloodworms and pellets today

She hasnt taken to either of them..so i rempved the bloodworm..
and left the pellets..
she kicks them out of her "food bowl/plate"

Any suggestions?

Earthworms is another good staple.

One thing though, whenever you introduce food it can take up to two weeks before they will take it, so just persevere, don't feed any mealworms and s/he'll eventually get hungry enough to take them.

By the way, Banda wouldn't have been brought up on mealworms with the original breeder, just that petshops tend to find it easiest to feed them or pellets as they readily stock them.

Thanks Kapo..

Yeah, thought so but thats what she said when i got Banda.."they been fed mealworms for most of their life so..its best to get mealworms.."

And i saw containers of earthworms at my local petstock! i was so tempted to get em..but I got blood worms and pellets instead..Damn it!

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
