Hi there- a friend gave me a sponge filter to put in our tank- it is amazing. I can actually see my axies again!
The water had been green for so long despite partial water changes nearly every other day. I had given up on filters as all the ones i tried stirred up the water too much.

Mary, nice to see you back and nice to know you've managed to sort out the green tank!

hi!

Hi Kapo-nice to hear from you! i was too thick to sort out password again.
How are all your "kids"?
We still have mum and dad axie and their daughter.. i am wondering if she is with child!!
Yes the water is amazing now.. mind you i don't think they minded their murky home.... :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
