i have tryed giving her frozen and fresh blood worm, but that does not work because she will not go in the water. She has not got it in her to swin she just sinks to the bottom on her back :(. i have also tryed giving her crickets. the other two love them they eat them out my hand but she wont. She did snap at one of the crickets when it was on the end of my feeding tongs but did not eat it. SO i leave them for her to eat but she wont touch them. She is so weak shes going to die soon inless i can do something about it ? Can anyone help me please

What kind of newts do you have?
If you recently aquired the newt from the pet store then it may still be too stressed to feed.

The only advice I can offer is to keep it cool, and try wiggly food. Waxworms, earthworms, crippled crickets (take off their back legs so they can't run). But if it was purchased from a pet shop, chances are it won't make it.

yeah thanks for that i do have the crickets and live bloodworm and wood lice but she wont eat any!
She has snapped at the cricket befor but thats it, i even cut it up so just like the head but still nothing. The other two i have both males are very fit and always hiding staying in the water mostly i even hand fed them hole crickets the other day. they were both from the pet store as well. I found out the pet store only feeds them once a week as well is that good or bad i try to feed mine every three days aprt from the girl i put fresh food out for her everyday.

This answer just gives me a bad case of "pet shop revulsion". What species (exactly) you have is very important to its care. Based on your previous posts, I think you have a Chinese firebelly newt (Cynops orientalis). Can you please look at this page, and confirm this for sure:

You probably think I'm being a pain in the butt (sorry), but using the correct name for the species really is important. The correct name should be included every time you post a question.

It sounds like you are trying all the right things to get the newt to eat. Chunks of cut-up earthworm would be my only other suggestion. Refusal to eat usually indicates an underlying problem. Forcefeeding is possible, but risks injuring the newt, and the newt usually dies anyway from whatever the underlying health problem was.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
