As the title already revealed, I was wondering what methods for water cooling you people use? the "place-the-aquarium-in-a-lower-part-of-the-room" is out of the question. I've tried filling some tupperware with water and freezing it....but the temperature isn't easy to control and is kinda unstable. Any tips on this will be very much appreciated.

Well I got an AC to cool the room but that can be pricy. I also freeze water, except I use frozen water bottles. Thats just what I do and its working nicely.

Hi Shawn,
In regards to keeping the water cool,
I use a pedestal fan, frozen water bottles
( with treated water in them)
and air conditioning.
I have not had any problems keeping the tank cool.
Cheers,
Chris.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
