Hey Every one!
I've heard people talking about feeding their babie axies liquid food and i was wondering if this is ok to be feeding them?? If it is can you purchase it in South Australia?? Any replies would be greatly appreciated!! thanx! :D

You will have much better success using a small live food to get the axololts started such as newly hatched brine shrimp.
The liquifood products are a non-living/moving food and will typically be ignored by hatchling caudates. It is possible that the addition of the food increased some of the microfaunal growth like cyclops in the rearing tanks leading to the survivial of the offspring but you will get much better results using hatchling brine shrimp.

I have deleted the extra thread here and if another moderator doesn't do it I will merge this with your other duplicate thread. Please do not post multiple threads on the same topic.

I think the liquid food is pretty much useless.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
