I have some great rocks that would really suit a tank and I was wondering how you clean them, I've heard that you can boil them but do you just use water and for how long?
I used 3 (what I think were granite slabs from my yard. I didn't boil them, I just scrubbed them down really well and added them to the tank. The granite was in the tank a few months with just the cycling fish before I added the caudate so that would have got rid of any other dirt, bacteria, etc. too.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
